Permission Marketing – Concepts to help Recruitment Consultants
I have just finished reading Permission Marketing by Seth Godin and would recommend this to anyone but more specifically I think it will be useful for Recruitment consultants working within a recruitment agency. I’m a fan of Godin and have read quite a few of his books and they are always entertaining and thought provoking.
Although the book is not specifically about recruitment (he does mention Robert Half in one section) I think there are several concepts in the book which would help consultants to be more effective with their marketing and approach to sales.
Where permission marketing will be at odds with the majority of recruitment businesses is that for permission marketing to work it must been seen as an on-going process which develops and strengthens over time. This will be a challenge to many recruitment businesses as they often have quite a short term outlook to their customers (clients and candidates)
